Artists need space and time to pursue their vision. Residencies are among the greatest opportunities for rejuvenation, connection, and artistic growth. Unfortunately, this path is virtually closed to young parents, since so few residencies in the US welcome families.

We created Interlude in 2019 to address this gap. We are the only residency in the northeastern United States dedicated exclusively to supporting the concurrent needs of creative and family lives.

Our selective, fully-funded residency program allows parent artists to make breakthrough work, get feedback, and expand their network. Everyone benefits when these voices are part of crucial conversations. We are modeling ways to make the arts ecosystem more sustainable and equitable.

Interlude is set in the thriving Hudson Valley arts community and residents have multiple opportunities for studio visits with notable area artists, curators and arts professionals, as well as meaningful community engagement.
